Wheelchair No More? Video of bionic legs’ first steps at launch in NZ
A New Zealand company has invented a unique pair of bionic legs that is allowing a paraplegic to walk again, New Zealand television reported. The design is known as Rex, an abbreviation for ‘robotic exoskeleton’, and has been unveiled with the help of a test pilot Hayden Allen, paralysed from the chest down following a motorcycle accident five years ago. The first pair sold is expected to go for around 150000 US dollars, about the same price as 20 standard wheelchairs.

look at the model t and now the 2010 challenger and 2010 camero over 400 hp made to go! who knows what this simple first generation device will lead to in a 100 years. stem cell research who knows what a 100 years will do for it also.
I’m seeing a caveman holding a stone wheel look at us now.
@mikelong411 your mom
@mikelong411 you would need your legs to crawl, from the sound of it, you need a lot more then a pair of legs. Unlike the rest of us, who if need be, could crawl with only a heart beat to live the fullest life possible. If your foul mouth is representing some kind personal experience, i doubt your imparement is physical. How do you know who has legs here?
@topjonn don’t you need your legs to crawl? fuckin idiot.
@BanTiger people who can’t walk will use it dumb fuck.
@jackblacksutube you are a huge douche bag.
@shinjosai you’re a fucking douche bag. you try being stuck in a wheel chair and then think about what he’s thinking.
@Kellyn180 you’re an idiot. anything that can get us standing and moving without a wheelchair is awesome and in five years this thing will make us walk just as normal as possible.
Damn! that thing is noisy as hell!!!
@dangermous1968
I agree!
so loud!!
The new goliath system….
It’s a good start for something better in the future.
this kinda makes me sad that finaly people in wheelchairs people get to walk again
slow but it works
круто!!
For all the people bashing this, it’s a good first step. The first prosthetic limbs were not so practical either, but now people can live without most people even noticing them.
i think they coulded have got it better……
Stem cells only work when a nerve needs to be repaired. If its a genetic problem stem cells are no good. I’d like one. But a faster one!
……. I going to buy one, just to crush cans with it.
well this is a start… i think…
thats cool i feel good fror the disabled who get to use them. but i have to argree with opitimus, that stem cells will do a better job. infact i think that biology will do the better job not just through the use of stem cells but a whole lot more.
thank fuck we dont live in a time where ppl would have left disabled ppl to defend on their own cause they thought it was god punishing them
@dangermous1968 ^Fantastic lol
@731288 Just like terrorism.
but think how much fun special olympics are gonna be now… the 1.5 meter race is gonna have people jumping out of their seats….
for the cost(150,000) I’d rather get a crappy wheel chair and pay a hot girl to push me around
