Cilostazol – Benefits, dosage, side effects

Posted on

Cilostazol is an antiplatelet drug and a vasodilator that is used to treat intermittent claudication, a condition that causes pain in the limbs when walking because blood vessels are narrowed, which usually occurs in peripheral arterial disease.

Cilostazol works by inhibiting platelets (platelets) sticking together so as to prevent blood clots from occurring. Cilostazol also makes blood vessels dilate (vasodilators), thereby facilitating blood flow and increasing oxygen supply to body cells.

Take Cilostazol correctly

Follow the doctor’s advice and read the information contained on the drug packaging in taking cilostazol.

Cilostazol should be consumed when the stomach is empty, which is 30 minutes before eating or 2 hours after eating. The dose of cilostazol can be adjusted to the patient’s condition, response to treatment, or the presence of other drugs being consumed.

For plastics in powder form, dissolve the cilostazol powder in a glass of water, then make sure the water is drunk until it’s finished. If not dissolved in water, leave the powder a few moments in the mouth until the medicinal powder dissolves with saliva, then swallows. Avoid consuming cilostazol powder in the supine position.

Be sure to take cilostazol at the same time every day, to get maximum results.
